Newest Tablets to Look Forward To In 2014

Slim, lightweight, and capable of running applications and connecting to the Internet these are just some of the functionalities that tablets offer to todays modern consumers. Tablet PCs first became popular in the market with the launching of the very first Apple iPad back in 2010. Since then, several other tablets have been released in the market by Apples biggest competitors, particularly Samsung and Google. Every year, more and more people excitedly await the newest tablet releases to see whats new, and find out about various new choices. Below are some of the rumored tablet releases next year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4th Generation

Rumor has it that Samsung is working on a 12-inch tablet that can boot both Android and Windows RT. Apparently, Microsoft, which hasn't successfully captured a significant share of the market with their Windows RT tablets, asked the South Korean company to consider loading the Windows OS onto their Android-enabled tablets as a dual-boot option. According to reliable tech insiders, Samsung is currently teaming up with Microsoft and is prepping a 2014 edition tablet with very high-definition retina display. Sit tight and take this news with a grain of salt though because this is all speculation until said tablet is formally launched next year.

Apple iPad 5th Generation

Tech giant Apple is said to be working on a new version of the iPad. If the buzz around the upcoming tablet is true, Apple will launch a 12.9-inch version with a display resolution of 2,732 by 2,048. Furthermore, reports suggest that the new iPad will measure 7.5 mm thick, which is 2 mm thinner and 1 mm shorter than the current version. The 5th generation iPad is expected to be released sometime next year.

Google Nexus 10

Another tablet to get excited about next year is Googles Nexus 10 which, according to reports, will be made by the Taiwanese manufacturer Asus rather than the Korean tech giant Samsung. The all-new Nexus 10 will reportedly be on the market during the holiday season next year via Google Playstore and Best Buy. Although the exact release date remains unknown, sources say that the tablet is already being prepared internally by Best Buy.

Panasonic Tough pad 4K

So what does Panasonic have in store for the modern consumers? The Panasonic Toughpad 4K is a Windows-based tablet weighing just over 5 pounds. It is so named because it exceeds consumer tablet durability expectations. According to its manufacturer, the tablet is durable enough to deal with drops of up to 76cm. Moreover, it is pen-enabled and features a 3,840 by 2,560 display resolution, or 4K. The device includes an impressive RAM of 8 GB with SSD options of 128GB and 156GB.

Tablets are, without a doubt, becoming a must-have gadget for people of all ages. Today, almost every household has at least one tablet that they use for surfing the net, reading books, watching videos, and playing games, among other things. Therefore, it doesnt come as a surprise that many people always look forward to the newest tablets that offer something really exciting to the millions of gadget enthusiasts worldwide.
